Does CBD show up on drug tests?
CBD has many benefits, but it is controversial because it is derived from plants in the cannabis family.
Many people wonder, “Will CBD make you fail a drug test?”
Read the blog post here:
If you are in a profession that requires drug test such as a government employee, professional athlete, police officer or medical personnel, you probably undergo regular drug screenings.
Many private companies also require pre-employment drug screening. So, will CBD make you fail a drug test?
The short answer is…probably not. But before you go for your next drug test there’s a bit more you should know.
What do drug screenings test for? Tests screen for drugs such as cocaine, methamphetamines, opiates, and cannabis. Even if cannabis is legal in your state, a potential employer can still screen for cannabis and decide not to hire you if you don’t pass.
Drug tests for marijuana or cannabis test for THC. THC is the psychoactive cannabinoid responsible for making people high. CBD is something entirely different.
CBD and THC are structurally different cannabinoids. If you only use CBD, you are unlikely to fail a drug test. Most full-spectrum CBD contains less than 0.3% THC which typically isn’t enough to result in a positive drug test.
However, there is a chance that a false positive may occur if you are taking a high mg dosage of full-spectrum CBD.
You can eliminate the risk of failing a drug test by simply making sure your CBD is guaranteed to contain zero THC.
Some full-spectrum CBD has zero THC. Even a zero THC label is not enough. Just be sure to make sure your zero THC CBD is third party tested. Hempure full-spectrum CBD has no THC. All lab results are posted on our website,
